A few weeks ago, we had Adam from Crestwood High School join us for his Year 10 work experience. He spent the week getting a real feel for what it’s like to work in tech and didn’t waste any time getting stuck into some app development.
A week of building, learning and creating with conn3ctedAI
Kicking off with conn3ctedAI
After a demo of our latest product, conn3ctedAI, Adam quickly dove in and used the tool to build an app for managing shift bookings, tasks and event invitations. He picked it up with ease and made the app his own.
Alongside with app development, he also tried out tools like Little Big Shop, even setting up his own online store. Over the week, he had the chance to chat with our team, learn how we design, build and test software, and get stuck into some real projects.
Adam’s take on the week
Here’s what Adam had to say about his student app development experience at Conn3cted:
”During my week at Conn3cted, I explored what the future of software development could look like by trying out their new platform, conn3ctedAI. I created my own app by interacting with AI agents that helped me develop plans, diagrams and strategies, and then deployed the app to the web. I also had the chance to speak with some of Conn3cted's developers and ask questions about different programming languages, how backend systems work, and what kind of education I should pursue to become a software developer.
I didn’t expect to prototype conn3ctedAI or understand so much of the process involved in turning a prompt into a working app. Everyone was incredibly kind and answered all of my questions, which helped me gain far more from the experience than I would have otherwise.
My favourite part of the week was the meetings and conversations I had with Glenn, Conn3cted’s CTO. He was extremely insightful, deeply knowledgeable about the industry, and more than happy to give me advice. He generously spent hours answering all of my questions about Conn3cted and the tech world in general. He shared how he started Conn3cted, how he recommends I continue my education, and how he decides which candidates to hire or pass on.

Wrap-Up
Adam brought a solid mix of curiosity and focus. He asked good questions, gave things a go, and had a crack at solving real problems. The team enjoyed having him around, and it was great seeing someone so switched on get into the swing of things so quickly.
