A new generation is emerging, one that will never know a world without artificial intelligence.
Generation Beta, born from 2025 onwards, will grow up in a landscape where AI isn’t just a tool, it’s woven into the fabric of their lives. Unlike Millennials, who witnessed the rise of the internet, or Gen Z, who adapted to social media dominance, Generation Beta will be the first cohort to experience technology as an inseparable part of their development. But what does this mean for the future of humanity?
An AI-native generation: AI as first language

If Generation Alpha was raised on tablets and smartphones, Generation Beta will be raised by AI itself. They won’t just use AI assistants, they’ll learn from them, form relationships with them and rely on them for nearly every aspect of life.
Gen Beta will grow up with AI as a big part of their lives. Smart tutors will adjust to how they learn, and virtual companions will change and grow over time, making education and social interactions more personalised.
Media will be dynamically generated for these kids. Their lessons, entertainment – even their interactions with the world, will be tailor-made by algorithms designed to predict and respond to their every need.
The result? A generation that may struggle to differentiate between human intuition and machine intelligence.

The death of privacy (or the birth of radical transparency?)
For Millennials, privacy was something to be fought for. Gen Z, by contrast, seemed more willing to trade it for convenience. Gen Beta? They may never even question its absence. In an AI-driven world, every action, preference and biometric signature will be logged, analysed and optimised.
Data privacy concerns are already growing in our AI era, but by the time Gen Beta comes of age, the battle may be over. Kao (2025) raises a critical issue:
”Will they demand stronger protections, or will they accept a world where their lives are an open book? Will they try to stay anonymous, or will they reinvent security with AI-powered privacy tools?

Work? That’s a boomer concept
Traditional careers are fading, and for Gen Beta, “work” might be unrecognisable. By 2035, AI will dominate industries in ways we can’t predict. The World Economic Forum estimated AI could create 85 million jobs in 5 years!
But what happens when automation outpaces job creation?
Gen Beta will adapt with flexible work, AI-driven businesses and digital economies. But there’s a risk: AI could dictate their careers, deciding their opportunities based on algorithms, not ambition.
Reality: pick your version
Gen Beta will live in digital spaces. Augmented and virtual reality will be part of daily life. What happens when your best friend is an AI, your job is in a digital economy and your home is virtual? Does the physical world even matter? Gen Beta won’t ask that question, they’ll prove the answer.
The first generation to see the 22nd century
Gen Beta isn’t just another label. They’ll be the first to experience 2100 in large numbers. Climate change, AI breakthroughs and space travel will define their world. For Gen Z, Mars is science fiction. For this AI-native generation, it could be a career path.
They won’t just navigate the future: they’ll build it. Whether through innovation or adaptation, their world will be shaped by forces no generation before them has faced. Ready or not, the next century starts with them.
